Timber tilt and turn windows are an exceptionally versatile window choice both modern and heritage properties. The timber windows can be designed to resemble existing glazing but with a tilt and turn design for flexibility. With an inward opening design these timber windows can allow beautiful levels of light and ventilation into any property.
The timber tilt and turn windows from Belgravia Windows and Doors can create large glazed areas but with the traditional style achieved by the timber frames. Our hardwood frames offer a timeless, elegant design without compromising on modern performance. All our timber species used to create the tilt + turn windows are highly insulating, and when pair with double or triple glazed units these windows create excellent thermal insulation.
Our timber sash windows are available to be made from any of the three below timbers:
A highly durable and long lasting timber that offers excellent stability, meaning that it has good resistance against warping and flexing when it comes into contact with moisture.
This timber offers great rot resistance, which is ideal in wet climates like the UK. Its Class 1 durability is one of the main benefits of Accoya, and its high strength to weight ratio makes it suitable for some of the most challenging applications.
The beautiful grain structure of Oak is incomparable to any other wood species, and when it’s used in British architecture it gives a beautiful wholesome feeling to the building.

Our timber tilt and turn windows are made with double glazing as standard. Our double-glazed units are extremely well insulating and include a low e coating and argon gas filling as standard. For higher levels of thermal performance our timber frames can be designed to take a thicker triple glazed unit.
Typically, you will achieve a Ug value of 1.1 W/m2K with the standard double glazed units but an improved thermally performance is possibly when the specification is upgraded to triple glazing. To further enhance the glazing specification, additional glass options such as solar control coatings, decorative glass, translucent glass, low iron glass and low maintenance glass are all possible.

As with all of our bespoke timber windows, we can integrate a tailored glazing bar design into your window design. We offer three options for your glazing bar design:
For a traditional style, the glazing bars can be worked into a retro design that creates an authentic finish to the timber framed glazing.
To achieve a modern glazing bar design, Belgravia Windows and Doors create flat glazing bars that provide a contemporary finish to the timber windows.
The glazing bars can be designed and manufactured to any design you require to create tilt ant turn windows that are completely unique to the project.
Although we strive to create beautifully designed timber glazing products, we also ensure that security and performance is at the forefront of each hand crafted timber tilt and turn window. Security is one of the most important aspects of a property, therefore we work with you to achieve the level of security that you require.

For a cohesive finish to the window design we use the same timber and finishing as your windows. The window cills are hand crafted to continue the traditional timber window composition.
This modern cill option offers a highly efficient alternative to traditional timber window cills. Terracotta is a long-lasting material that cannot become water damaged, therefore making it an extremely suitable alternative to timber

Belgravia Windows and Doors design and manufacture each of their timber tilt and turn windows for minimal maintenance. Each product is hand crafted to the highest quality to ensure that the timber only needs to be refinished a few times across their lifetime. Our timber windows are easy to look after and work with.
To clean the timber tilt and turn window you will only need to use a soft sponge and warm soapy water to clean any dirt and debris off the glass and frames. Be careful not to use a pressure washer or hose on the windows as the force of the water may cause damage to the finish of the timber.
The level and type of maintenance required depends of the timber option you have chosen, and the finish used on your windows. The climate the windows are installed in also play a huge part of the level of maintenance as coastal and harsh climates may require more frequent maintenance.
Read our ‘Maintenance of Timber’ page for more information.
